New Guild Studio designed and produced all of the following work shown in this portfolio:

Color Scheme and Decorative Painting
In what was once a fairly typical 1950's - 60's era stark church interior, New Guild Studio envisioned a new color and decorative design scheme for St. Patrick Church. A use of color and elegant wall and ceiling decorations, silkscreened, hand painted and gilded, were introduced and carried throughout the Church to a magnificent, transforming effect.

Sanctuary Reredos
The sanctuary design features a reredos that adds ornamentation and a strong architectural element to the space. A window wall of leaded stained glass runs the length of the sanctuary. In the center are three monumental Gothic panels with hand painted and gilded design motifs.

Corpus and Cross
A new corpus was cast in resin and painted in artist's oil colors. The cross was constructed of oak with a band of copper enameled color in the center recessed channel. On each end of the cross, a sculpted copper relief and glass enamel symbol of an Evangelist appears.

Liturgical Furniture and Appointments
Altar, ambo, and tabernacle throne were custom designed and built in oak with accent glass enamels. A new marble flowing water baptismal font was created. A suspended oak and glass sanctuary lamp with glass enamel accent was designed for the baptistery.

Tabernacle
A bronze and copper custom built tabernacle with hand sculpted Eucharistic Saints and extensive glass enamel ornament was designed and produced.

Triptych
Christ, St. Peter and St. Patrick, original oil paintings on wood panel, are framed within a hand built, gilded wood triptych.

Stations of the Cross
Figurative relief sculpted set of Stations of the Cross were custom designed and produced.

Shrines
Two large oil paintings of the Blessed Mother and Child and St. Joseph were created and installed on opposing side walls of the choir area and entrance. They serve as centerpieces for the two devotional shrines that were designed for the renovated interior.
Additional Renovations
A new lighting, dimming and sound system was designed and installed, a new marble and porcelain tile Sanctuary floor was installed and the existing terrazzo floor in the remainder of the Church was repaired and refinished. The existing pews were refinished.

New Guild Studio has been in the liturgical arts field since 1991. Over the years, the company of four - David and Suzann Miriello and David and Mary Korns - have completed numerous sacred art projects that range in scope and scale from the design and production of a single chalice to the renovation of an entire church.

From the beginning, sacred art has brought form and fulfillment to mans quest
for the divine. Rendered by the right hands, familiar motifs and figures have
the power to move people beyond the practical concerns of the world,
awakening in them the possibilities of the eternal.
